Welcome to Preston Domestic Violence Services

Over the past 15 years  Preston Women’s Refuge has grown from a small refuge to a wide range of services to support those suffering from Domestic Violence;  for this reason it was decided to change our name to:

Preston Domestic Violence Services

Preston Domestic Violence Services is the only organisation in Preston which exists solely to support adults and children experiencing (or having experienced) domestic violence.   It is a sad fact; that in the past year over 4000 women and girls aged between 16 and 59 have suffered from Domestic Violence in Preston alone! (source - The Government’s violence against women and girls ready reckoner)

If you are experiencing domestic violence and need help please call our

24 hour Domestic Violence Helpline

01772 201601

if you require urgent assistance please telephone the police on 999 .

Preston Domestic Violence Services is committed to striving for equality in the provision of its services to service users and the employment of the staff, volunteers and management committee members who provide these services and contribute to the organisation.

Preston Domestic Violence Services recognises that certain groups in society continue to be discriminated against. Our practices, however, will seek to ensure that staff, ad hoc workers, volunteers and service users will not be discriminated against on the basis of their: Gender, Race, Colour, Ethnic or national origin, Religious belief, Political opinion or affiliation, Age, Disability, Sexual orientation, Gender reassignment or Marital status.

Preston Domestic Violence Services is a women only organisation, exempt under section 7 (2) (E) of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975. We are allowed to provide women only services in the Refuge and the HOPE centre.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank organisations and individuals who support Preston Domestic Violence Services, either financially or in kind. Without your support we could not exist.

We welcome feedback about our services, including our website.
