Safe Temporary Accommodation
The Refuge is accessible 24 hours a day and 365 days a year via the Domestic Violence Helpline. Women can self refer or come via an agency such as the Police, Housing, Social Services, Health Professionals. Preston Domestic Violence Services have a good working relationship with all of these statutory agencies.
Preston Domestic Violence Services endeavours to make the accommodation comfortable, well maintained and secure. The refuge is currently communal, but you will be given your own room. We work with each resident on a one to one basis and the support you receive will be designed to meet your specific needs.
All women sign a licence agreement when they arrive at the refuge, which contains rules around safety and non-discriminatory behaviours.
In conjunction with Contour Housing we now have a purpose built refuge with 15 self contained units. Click the link to see what the new refuge looks like inside here.
