No-one is held back…
Today, at Women’s Conference, Labour women have been working together to create a society where no one is held back.
This afternoon I set out Labour’s important plans to support the victims of domestic abuse. Labour is committed to ensuring survivors of domestic abuse can take up to 10 days paid leave – giving them time to leave their abusive partners, find new homes and protect their families.
For Labour, equality will never be an afterthought. I was also delighted to announce that when Labour forms a Government, we’ll create a stand alone Department for Women and Equalities, making sure we put equalities centre stage.
It’s always so inspiring to gather together with so many phenomenal women each year, and today has been no different.
